What happens when a dance connection stops feeling like just a dance connection?
We all know the feeling. A great song, the right person... That connection that suddenly feels a little more intense than expected.
Sometimes it stays exactly where it started – on the dance floor. And sometimes… it doesn’t.
This year at Salsa Grand, Community Talks goes straight into that fascinating, complicated and sometimes very blurry space between dance chemistry and real-life emotions.
LET’S TALK ABOUT IT
Social dancing creates a unique kind of closeness. Music, physical connection, eye contact, trust and shared energy can make two people feel connected incredibly quickly.
But what does that connection actually mean?
During this live conversation, we’ll scratch the surface of some questions the salsa community knows very well:
- Dance chemistry vs. real-life chemistry – are they actually the same thing?
- Why can social dancing create such an intense feeling of connection?
- When do we start interpreting dance chemistry as romantic or sexual interest?
- Flirting, attraction & mixed signals – where is the line?
- Can men and women experience exactly the same situation completely differently?
- What happens inside the famous festival bubble, where everything somehow feels more intense?
- Where is the line between friendliness, flirting and genuine interest?
- And what happens when relationships begin – or end – but both people remain part of the same dance scene?
We won’t pretend we can untangle the entire emotional world of salsa in one hour. But we can definitely start the conversation.
FOUR PERSPECTIVES - ONE VERY INTERESTING TOPIC
Guiding the conversation will be Dejan Stošić, an internationally recognized salsa instructor and one of the pioneers of the Serbian salsa scene, with more than 20 years of experience teaching, performing and living the social dance world.
Joining him are three panelists who bring very different perspectives to the table:
LANNA BROZ - Relationship Expert, Life & Dating Coach & Social Dancer
Lanna brings the professional perspective behind the stories. As a certified life and dating coach, author and educator – and a passionate social dancer herself – she will help us look beneath the surface at attraction, expectations, projections, emotional patterns, mixed signals and the way we interpret connection.
ELLA JAUK - Salsa Instructor & Social Dancer
Ella brings the female perspective from inside the international dance scene – years of dancing, teaching, travelling and experiencing the social floor firsthand.
DJ SERGIO - International Salsa DJ & Social Dancer
From Paris to international festivals and socials around Europe, Sergio has spent years watching the dance floor from both sides of the DJ booth – and living the salsa scene himself. This time, he joins the conversation to bring a male perspective to the mix.
Different experiences - different perspectives. And probably not always the same opinions.
THIS CONVERSATION IS FOR EVERYONE
Women, men, couples, singles, hopeless romantics, complete skeptics – and everyone who has ever walked away from a dance wondering: “Wait… was that just a really good dance?”
Come listen, laugh, disagree, ask questions and add your own perspective! Because we all talk about connection on the dance floor.
But what happens when that connection follows us off it?
